Racking Terra Venture and Corinth

Back in February, I start my search for a new place to reside, and throughout March and the first week of April I was moving into that new place. With this new place being a bit of a downgrade, a three bedroom to a two bedroom, I no longer have that extra room to dedicate to the servers and storage systems that I have and have planned in my head, so everything had to get consolidated into the office/studio space that I’ve reserved one of the rooms for. This decision came in handy with setting up Terra Venture and Corinth.

A coworker of mine has a 3D printer and has told me in the past that she’s willing to print me anything that I need. My studio desk, an Studio RTA Producer Station, has an absurd about of rack space that with my current music equipment setup is going unused, so I had a rack mount “caddy” printed that was designed for Dell Optiplex Micros and luckily also fit a Lenovo Tiny PC. I’ve not been able to free up the side table that I had these sitting on before and neatly tuck them away in/under my desk.

My next mission is to find or have someone design a “caddy” that can house a small form factor Dell OptiPlex so that I can get KO-35 into the rack as well and clean up the desk area a bit more. I might have to start dabbling in CAD a little and design something myself.

I’ve also just recently gotten Onyx moved over to the next place, but haven’t done anything more than plug it into the network switch. I don’t have the money I need to buy the two 10-terabyte hard drives that I need to make this a backup system for KO-35. But I’ve also been thinking about other things that I could do with it at the moment with the 1.5 terabytes that I currently have in it and I’ve also been wanting my KO-35 backup be a system not in my home.
