Goodbye To Linux On A Mac… Hello, 7080 In The Studo!

I’m building up too many computer in this place. A laptop, a microtower, two small form factors, two micro/mini, AND an iMac! So I’ve decided to ship the iMac off to a friend who recently told me that they were looking for something for their photography studio. I backed up all of the data that I had on the system, reinstalled MacOS and swapped out the iMac for the OptiPlex 7080. It’s not running Linux, but I’ve instead decided to put Windows 10 back on it so that I could utilize the photography, graphic & desktop publishing, and music software that I’ve come to enjoy using. (That’s Capture One, Affinity Photo & Publisher, and Studio One, respectively.)

With the 7080 running an Intel Core i7-10700 at 2.90 GHz with 64 gigabytes of DDR4 RAM, this machine should have no problem handling my photo editing and music production workload. It will certainly handle it music better than my 9 year old Lenovo laptop and the Lenovo ThinkCentre M72e that was running everything previously will.

Not much of a server or Linux update, but involved a couple of the machines that were once apart of the network, so I felt it was worth mentioning.
